About us
WanderWood is a unique wellbeing service located in the heart of Plymouth, United Kingdom. Founded by a qualified Paramedic, our mission is to harness the restorative power of nature to promote holistic wellness. We understand that wellbeing is a multifaceted journey, and our approach combines professional medical knowledge with the calming effects of natural environments. Our services, including therapeutic activities, mindfulness, and bushcraft, which are designed to help individuals reconnect with themselves, nature and find balance in a hectic world. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive, and we are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing space for personal growth and healing.
Wilderness Sessions:
Guided therapeutic activities promoting mental and physical well-being in beautiful natural surroundings.
Suitable for anybody over 18.
Particularly beneficial for anyone feeling the stresses and strains of modern life.
Anyone struggling with anxiety and/or depression.
Anyone feeling a bit lost and alone, maybe lacking direction.
Anyone lacking a bit of self confidence or self esteem.
Usually a course of 8 sessions over 4 days, which follow a planned progression, for groups of up to 8 people.
This can include an overnight camp if requested.
Shorter taster sessions or smaller groups can be arranged.
Sessions will comprise a mix of Bushcraft skills and activities that are creative, physical, relaxing or thought provoking. They can also be done as an individuals or part of the group or a small team.

Bushcraft:
Learning new, useful skills in a safe and peaceful environment.
You will be shown how to:
- light and set & extinguish fires responsibly.
- use tools such as axes, knives, saws safely.
- make useful bushcraft items.
- tie knots.
- build shelters.
- find water and make it safe to drink.
No one is under any obligation to take part in the activities. There will be no judgement if you want to sit one out or have medical reasons not to take part.
